Manual Backup

Manually backup Zeal Wallet

Last updated 1 year ago

The Manual backup method uses a Secret Phrase to secure your wallet. To use this option, hover over “Manual backup” and click the bar.

You’ll be asked to enter the password that you previously created to secure your wallet.

Once you’ve entered your password, you’ll be greeted with a new page titled “Before you begin.” On this page, confirm that you understand the risks associated with this option in order to move on to the next step.

Upon confirming that you understand the risks, you’ll see a new page titled “Write down Secret Phrase” will appear. Initially, your secret phrase will be blurred out for safety. Hover over the section of the page containing your secret phrase to view and save your phrase.

Alternatively, you can use the copy button underneath the blurred area of the page to quickly copy your entire Secret Phrase to your computer’s clipboard. If you’re backing up your phrase manually, we recommend you do this offline.

After saving your Secret Phrase, you’ll be asked to verify it. If you’re successful, you’ll be notified of your success and sent back to the wallet’s main screen. If you fail to verify it correctly, you’ll be sent back to the page with your blurred-out Secret Phase.
